a new chapter is starting

Lunch with my Diva Brothers!

Amsterdam

Well, This was a depressing sight!
My empty room in Auburn.
Packing for a loonnggg time.

So, It's official. I'm living in Virginia. I have learned so much already. This place is full of resources and a library that I could spend days in with Jess McLean.  :)  Our days are packed full, and I have a ton of reading to do. I am meeting some really awesome people, and we played a great game of ultimate frisbee last night. I am enjoying learning more about the Word and getting to spend some quality time with some quality people (aka-divas). We had a great day yesterday with an long time to spend with the Lord. It was great for my Spirit to be renewed. It was great to be reminded of His faithfulness. He reminded me that my joy does not come from circumstances, but rather from His Spirit. Praise the Most High.

"Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds."
Psalm 36:5

drinking from a fire hose

Well, this is overwhelming. Good thing my Lord is sovereign. Praise Him for leading us in the way everlasting, as well as beside still waters.

Saying goodbye was incredibly hard. Leaving the people I have grown to love over the last four years (or four months, Stephen) has been a season of sadness as well as thanksgiving. The Lord has helped me realize over the past few days how thankful I am for my beautiful friends and family. What a blessing they have been. What a beautiful community. What a joyful season! I pray that the Lord continues to renew my joy in the morning... each morning. I am so blessed to be in Virginia with so many resources to grow, learn, and prepare for the Philippines. Even though I feel trapped here, I know the Lord has a purpose. I am ready to see what the Lord has in store for my time here.

"For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it." Hebrews 12:11

"Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen." Hebrews 13:20-21

"For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God. Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever." Psalm 86:10-11

I miss you all.

good 'til the last drop

It has been an incredible week. I am so thankful that I have the Lord to hold onto. Your Great Name has become a song that will forever remind me of the last two weeks with my best friends. I am so thankful for all of the time the Lord allowed us to spend together over the last four years. I am so blessed by their presence, their encouragement, and their sweet hearts seeking our Father.

Now, it's time to live it up until the very last drop.

"Because your steadfast love is BETTER than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my my hands."  Psalm 63:3-4

let's get this show on the road!

This is it, folks... my new blog. Welcome! ... or should I say, Maligayang Pagdating!

My Filipino adventure is right around the corner! I am looking forward to giving you a taste of my life in the Philippines. Right now, I am busy making last minute preparations and enjoying fun times with my family and friends... as well as figuring out a good way to shove two years of my life into a suitcase. At the end of July, I will be moving to Richmond, Virginia for training. In October, I'll be boarding a 19 hour flight to move to Manila for two years. I can't wait to see what the Lord has planned for my time there. Yay!  : )
